The AirFlow sewage treatment plant employs the well proven aerobic biological process for the treatment of sewage. Three process stages take place within the single tank.
- Coarse solids are separated and retained for gradual breakdown.
- The separated liquor is continuously distributed over specialist media (which develop bacteria) by an airlift operated by a remotely sited blower.
- Final settlement of solids takes place. With normal domestic sewage a discharge of 20mg/l, 30mg/l, 20mg/l ammonia can be achieved.
Subject to the relevant authorities consent, the plant discharge can be to a watercourse or to a designed infiltration system, provided the soil percolation test is satisfactory, to a ground soak away.
Options
- Integral Pumpsets - for lifting treated effluent to a level where discharge cannot be by gravity.
- Separate Sample Chambers - for accurate and convenient effluent sampling, as required by the relevant authorities.
The unit is normally installed with the cover flush to ground level. It may protrude above ground if required to suit ground levels or landscaping. Sitting should preferably be no closer than 7m from the nearest house. The plant should be seated on a concrete base within a concrete surround in either a dry or a wet site. The blower housing can be located anywhere within a 13m. radius of the plant itself.
Maintenance
AirFlow sewage treatment plant is designed for minimum maintenance.
Under normal usage the plant will require periodic emptying.
